Worcester: Jean M. (Olson) Anderson, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Notre Dame Healthcare. She leaves two sons- Paul R. Anderson and his wife Diane of Holden and Jon S. Anderson and his wife Janice of Worcester; 3 grandchildren -Karl, Sarah, and Douglas; a great granddaughter Norah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Robert W. Anderson; and by brothers Clarence S. Olson and Robert Olson.
Jean was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, daughter of the late Samuel and Agnes (Lindholm) Olson. She graduated from Iron Mountain Senior High School in 1942 and attended business school. She worked as a bookkeeper until moving to Worcester in 1946. She then worked as a secretary at Crompton and Knowles Loom Works for five years. She then worked at Notre Dame Academy for 33 years, retiring as Office Manager in December 2000.
Jean was an active member of Salem Covenant Church, serving as former president of the choir, soloist, past president of Salem Covenant Women Ministries and member and secretary of Salem Covenant Outreach Commission.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, with burial first at 9:30 a.m. in All Faiths Cemetery 7 Island Rd., Worcester, followed by a memorial service and celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. in Salem Covenant Church 215 East Mountain St. Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Salem Covenant Church Music Ministry or Notre Dame Academy Scholarship Fund 425 Salisbury St. Worcester.
