Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen M. Phillips (Sexton) after an amazing 100 years of life. She passed away at home in Plymouth on July 3, 2022.

Born and raised in Whitman, Helen was the daughter of the late Annie Sexton (Cassidy) and George Sexton. She was also a caring mother to the late Gail P. Phillips. Helen was a beloved and devoted mother to her surviving family including her daughters Judy Phillips and husband Jasey Aylward of Plymouth, Jean Smith and husband David of East Bridgewater, Ann Phillips of TN, son Michael Phillips of CA, and granddaughters Megan Smith and Nicole Spears.

After attending high school, Helen worked at the Bostonian Shoe Factory as a stenographer for many years utilizing the old school shorthand technique. She met her husband Lawrence and married in 1952.

Helen’s hobbies include gardening and taking long walks. She was an avid Patriots fan and displayed her Patriots support proudly. She enjoyed traveling and cruised extensively with her daughters.

People that were fortunate enough to meet her, often remarked that “she was so sweet” and “she has a beautiful smile”.
