Sebago- Nancy Jane Smith, 72, of Sebago, Maine, died at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine, on June 25, 2022. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on August 29, 1949, a daughter of Victor and Barbara (Benke) Smith and was educated in South Carolina schools.
Nancy became a Journeyman Electrician and worked first for the Charleston Naval Shipyard in South Carolina, then for several years at the Crane Naval Shipyard in Bloomington, Indiana, before transferring back to the Charleston Naval Shipyard. In addition to being an electrician, she also became a journeyman plumber.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was very interested in Genealogy, as well as several crafts including sewing, quilting, and soap making. She loved orchids, and she liked to go to the movies often. Nancy was usually "going" somewhere and never stayed idle very long. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Harold Douglas "Doug" Luttrell Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Sebago, Maine. Her daughter, Heather Diane Luttrell and husband Nick Boothby of Little Mountain, South Carolina. Three siblings: Joan Bozzone of Aiken, SC, Victor Smith Jr. of Orangeburg, SC, and Margie Warhurst of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Also 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews (of the regular and grand varieties).
A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Parsonsfield, Maine, on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. Arrangements are respectfully handled by the Poitras, Neal and York Funeral Home, Cornish. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.mainefuneral.com
