LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Robert D. Welsh, 42, of Las Vegas, Nevada and formerly of Princeton, New Jersey, died suddenly on Friday, June 17, 2022.
He is survived by his parents, J. Douglas Welsh and Barbara (Sieniuc) Welsh of Rocky Hill, CT; his brothers, Daniel N. Welsh and his wife, Danette, and Matthew J. Welsh and his wife Mackenzie and their daughter, Charlotte. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves a special friend, Laura O’Neal and Mojo, the dog.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Joseph Welsh and Jeanne Welsh of Baltimore, Maryland, and maternal grandparents, Francis R. Sieniuc and Constance Sieniuc of Worcester, Massachusetts; maternal uncle, Robert Sieniuc and maternal aunt Elizabeth Sieniuc, both of Connecticut.
Robert was born on November 8, 1979 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He lived in Stony Brook, NY and then in Princeton, NJ. He attended Princeton High School and was a member of the Varsity Lacrosse Team.
In 2005, Robert drove across country to reside where others would often go to visit, Las Vegas. He enjoyed working in the food industry. He was employed at the Yellow Tail Restaurant at the Bellagio for more than 10 years. He said there was no place in the world like Las Vegas. He enjoyed playing in Poker tournaments, and exploring Nevada on his “One-Wheel” hover board. He enjoyed traveling and visited many places including England and Hawaii.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00AM in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in the family plot in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A reception will follow. If one wishes to send flowers for the funeral service, they may be sent to the funeral home, a day prior to the services.
