Katie Viola Suggs Lamb, 81, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Mrs. Lamb will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Kenny Lowe, Derek Lowe, Jonathan Lamb, Matthew Lamb, Tom Rix and Randall Hughes will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 13, 1940, in Colquitt, Mrs. Lamb was the daughter of the late William Matthew Suggs and Vertie Bell Everett Suggs. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Suggs. Before retiring, she worked as a clerk in the Medicare Department of Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company.
Mrs. Lamb is survived by her husband, Larry Joe Lamb of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Melinda Lamb of Johnston City, Illinois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Kenneth Lowe of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Kimberly and Jason Zimmerman of Palm City, Florida; one brother, Lonnie Suggs of Hodges, Alabama, two sisters, Louise Jones of Colquitt and Martha Grant of Creal Springs, Illinois; six grandchildren, Matthew Lamb, Jonathan Lamb, Derek Lowe, Makenzie Lowe, Isaac Zimmerman and Ava Zimmerman; and three great-grandchildren, Lila Lamb, Michael Lamb and Nolan Lamb.
