Miss Rita MacDonald, 88, of High Street, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital after a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Angus and the late Bridget (Paul) MacDonald, she was born September 8, 1933, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.
Miss MacDonald formerly resided at Post Office Square for more than ten years before making her home on High Street. She had been employed with Scriptures Laundry until they moved to New York, and had also worked for Andover Medical until 1996 when she retired, and she enjoyed walking, bowling, and traveling, but the thing that brought her the most joy was spending time with her many nieces and nephews and their families who affectionately called her ‘Auntie’.
She is survived her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great grand nieces and great grand nephews, as well as her numerous Godchildren and her many friends who were her extended family at Belvidere Heights.
She was predeceased by her siblings John MacDonald, James MacDonald, Edward MacDonald, Daniel MacDonald, Pauline Serre, Jeannette MacDonald, Katherine V. Dalli, and Anna Mae Davis.
