Carlos H. Calouro
New England Plastics Company Retiree
TEWKSBURY: Carlos H. Calouro, age 78, a resident of Tewksbury for 32 years, passed away at home in the care of his family and Merrimack Valley Hospice on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Nevia M. (Pacheco) Calouro, with whom he would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 27, 2022.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on July 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Carlos S. Calouro and the late Maria (Melo) Calouro.
Carlos was raised in Sao Miguel and attended local schools.
In 1967, he moved to Cambridge where he resided until moving to Tewksbury in 1990.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years for the New England Plastics Company in Woburn.
Carlos enjoyed gardening, listening to music, hosting family gatherings, fishing with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife to their homeland in Portugal.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Debbie Winter and her fiancé, Steve DaSilva, of Windham, NH, and Stephen Calouro and his fiancée, Rachael Macomber, of Tewksbury: six grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Ryan Winter, and Nicholas, Matthew and Hailey Calouro: his sister, Maria Melo and her husband Denis, of Somerville: his brother, Emanuel Calouro, of Tewksbury. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members in the area as well as in Portugal.
Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin Wednesday, July 6, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843.
