Josephine D. Henault, 89, of Franklin passed away on Tuesday, June 28th 2022 at Maples Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham.
Born in Norwood, MA on February 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Augustino and Jennie (Giancardi) Purpura. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers; Salvatore and Joseph Purpura, her sister Mary (Purpura) Troiano, her beloved son, Philip, and son in laws Ronald Parsons and Richard Gibeault.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She worked for many years at Jennie’s Restaurant owned and operated by her mother in Norwood. That’s where her love of cooking began. Every family celebration, holiday, and party included her homemade Italian cookies that were a favorite treat. Her grandchildren fondly remember sleeping over Grammy Jo’s and waking up to the smell of Dough Boys, home fries, and eggs. She was an avid Red Sox fan who rarely missed a televised game.
Jo will be remembered for her gentle nature, kindness and generosity.
Josephine is survived by her children: David Henault and his wife Jan of Franklin, Carla (Henault) Parsons and her significant other Peter Giardino of Franklin, and Cheryl (Henault) Watson of MO. Her grandchildren; Ricky Gibeault and his wife, Nikki of Florida, Ryan Parsons and his wife Amanda, and great grandaughter Emma of Plainville, Katelyn (Henault) Hassell and her husband Matt of Holliston, Jenna Parsons and her fiancé Andrew Glass of Wrentham, Philip and Nicholas Henault of Franklin and Ross Watson of MO. Her brothers: Frank and Augustino Purpura of Florida.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and her many friends.
Calling hours in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. are Tuesday July 5th, from 10 am-12 pm.
Burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
