In Taunton, Ruth Catherine (Dixon) Schuttauf, age 83, passed away peacefully in Wedgemere Nursing Home with her loving family by her side on June 24, 2022. Ruth was the wife of the late Francis Schuttauf. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Robert & Bernice (Pring) Dixon.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Taunton. Ruth was educated in Taunton schools, she received her teaching degree from Bridgewater State University. Ruth was employed for the Town of Rehoboth, where she taught at the Palmer River Elementary School. Ruth was also the co-owner of the Big S Service Station. Volunteering was a big part of her life, Ruth was a member of the Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, Taunton Visiting Nurses, Quota Club, Gideon’s, Applause Academy, City of Taunton poll worker, Clown Unit for Shriner’s, (clown’s Hanky & Panky). She also enjoyed sailing, painting, and above all cherished her time with family.
Ruth is survived by her children; Heidi Stipetic and husband Scott, Holly Roderick and husband Harold “Butch”, Lance Schuttauf and wife Cynthia (Tripp) and Erich Schuttauf and wife Georgianna (Albright), her grandchildren; Nikolaus Schuttauf, Ryan Stipetic, Britton Stipetic, Alexandra Schuttauf, Madeline Schuttauf, Timothy Schuttauf, and Maxwell Schuttauf, her great grandchildren; Hailey and Madison Schuttauf, Her siblings; Marjorie Whitney, Dorothy Musser, Carolyn Kite, Janice Davis, and the late Nancy Schuttauf, Roberta King, and Bernice Andrews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Cornerstone Community Church, 111 Highland Road, Lakeville, MA on Saturday, August 6th at 11am. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA.
