Ellen M. “Sis” Gesnaldo (Dwyer) passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Atrium at Drum Hill, Chelmsford, in the company of her loving family. She was 91. Born and raised in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Janie (McGeen) Dwyer.
Once married, she and her late husband Daniel settled in Medford over 70 years ago to raise their family. Devoted to her family, Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ellen loved to cook and to prepare big and hearty meals. Often times it seemed as though every meal she made was fit for a holiday. She was proud of her children and really enjoyed time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She stayed close to her siblings. While her life centered on her family, she managed to work for a few years at the former Hillside Pharmacy in Medford where, among other things, she mastered the art of working the soda fountain. Most of all, she and Daniel can be remembered for modeling and living what a beautiful and loving marriage could be.
The beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Gesnaldo, Jr who passed away in 1999, Ellen was a devoted mother to Daniel Gesnaldo and his wife Carol, Michael Gesnaldo and his wife Marie, Helen King and her husband Paul, John Gesnaldo, Diane Davis and her husband Bill and the late Robert Gesnaldo. She was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Sister Jane Michael Dwyer, Jean Musmecci and the late Michael “Sonny” and Robert Dwyer.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, July 1st at 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:30 AM.
