Marion Kelemen, long time resident of Port Hueneme, passed away in her sleep on Monday morning, June 13, 2022.
Born to Emil and Lillian (Steen) Kast on August 10, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, Marion Emily Kelemen moved to Hollywood, California in 1955. She married Charles Kelemen on July 29, 1965 and they had two sons. Charles and Marion were married approximately 24 years.
Marion was well educated and had several degrees. She enjoyed continuing to learn and used that education to help many people as a friend and/or paralegal. She was proactive in politics, life and loved anything fun!
She moved to Port Hueneme in 1997, having enjoyed the climate when visiting from Woodland Hills, and loved the weather as well as the people here.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lillian Kast, and her son, Michael.
Survivors include her son, Theodore and wife Amy, and grandson, Michael Segawa, all of Port Hueneme. Marion was famous for taking people under her wing and adopting them, making them part of her family and she is survived by many of them as well as many friends, and all will miss her fun loving attitude, intelligent banter and wit, as well as her love of fun and life.
One of Marion’s favorite sayings, and what she lived by, is so true! “Life is uncertain so eat dessert first!”
Enjoy your favorite dessert and think of her.
