Josephine S. (Rossetti) Greenwood, 94, of Franklin died peacefully at her home with her family beside her. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Greenwood who died in 2006.
Born in Franklin, November 1,1927, the daughter of the late Folicardo and Maria Grace (Creasia) Rossetti, Josephine was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Josephine was a 1945 graduate of Franklin High School.
Mrs. Greenwood had worked part time after school at the former Sentinel Press, Inc. After graduation , she was employed as a secretary at the Sentinel for many years. She then worked until retirement in the Franklin High School Library.
Josephine’s family was nearest to her heart. She put her family above all else.
She was wonderful , generous and thoughtful beyond words. Her family and people that have known her her will dearly miss her gentle and kind ways.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Greenwood, Glenn Greenwood and Mary Anne Greenwood all of Franklin.
She is also survived her grandchildren, Jennifer Greenwood of Franklin, Lauren Montgomery and her husband Timothy of Franklin, Eric Hanson of Franklin and Madeline Boyle of Mansfield. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Isla and Max Montgomery.
She was the sister of Claire Fournier of Mansfield and was the sister of the late James, John, Henry, Nicholas, Joseph and William Rossetti, Lee Elias, Phyllis Pagnini, Susan Menard, Eva Santoro, Anne Smith and Dorothy Blanchard.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 10:00a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
