Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of John R. Hogan , Jr, 77 of Bellingham, announce his passing on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
He was the husband of Patricia L. (O’Donnell) Hogan.
Born in Brighton, MA. , November 9,1944, the son of the late John R. Hogan, Sr. and Catherine T. (Keohane) Hogan, John grew up in Boston.
He was a graduate of Mission High School, Boston State College and Boston University, earning a Master’s Degree in History.
John had worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years, retiring as Office Manager for the Worcester office.
He had served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.
John was an avid reader, a card shark and cribbage player. He loved the Boston Globe, all Boston sports and his old beat up truck!
John was a wonderful husband, Dad, Papa and friend to all.
He was a sideline staple at almost all his grandson Christopher’s games and would have been at every dance recital if he hadn’t fallen asleep after the first one! He was proud of his Irish roots and regaled everyone with his laughter, humor and endless stories.
John is survived by his wife Patricia, whom he married on July 1,1972. They were five days shy of celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
He is also survived by his daughter Christine Marks and her husband Bryan of Medway.
He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Hogan Gibbons of Denver, Co and his 2 beautiful grandchildren, Maddie and Christopher.
He was the brother of the late James Hogan.
Per John’s wishes, he will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers , please consider a donation to the Bellingham Senior Center, 40 Blackstone, Street, Bellingham, MA 02019 in John’s memory, one of his favorite place to be.
