Sharon Conger Hill, 78, of Eldorado passed away, Sunday, June 26, 2022, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Hill at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Ronnie Lawson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado.
Jerry Hill, Brian Atwater, Patrick Atwater, Tommy Whitley, Steve Roberts and Justin Weeks will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 18, 1943, in Fairhope, Alabama, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Elzie Ezelle “Red” Conger and Ruth Carter Conger Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George “Wayne” Hill, Sr. and one sister, Charlotte McMillan. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. She retired from the Tift County Board of Education, where she was a school bus driver for 30 years. Before retiring, she also worked as the circulation manager at the Tifton Gazette and she was a farmer’s wife.
Mrs. Hill is survived by one daughter, Sharon Rose “Shari” Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne “Waye” and Shannon Brady Hill; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jesse Weeks of Welaka, Florida and Donna and David Taylor of Nashville; four grandchildren, Nicole Branam, Brittney Green and her fiance' Justin Gartman, Rachel Hill Walker and her husband Jake, and Chelsi Hill; and one great-granddaughter, Rozlynn Green.
