Alicia Sowell White, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Brunswick, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, July 1, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Annette Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. White was born May 28, 1950, in Fitzgerald Georgia, to the late James & Geneva Sowell. She lived in the community all of her life and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a homemaker and a caregiver. Ms. White loved to write, especially poetry and a great friend to all that knew her. Selfless, caring, thoughtful, humorous, loving, kind-hearted, supportive, devoted, friendly, gentle and generous are all words used to describe her. She was a member of the Optimist Club and Santa’s chauffeur. Ms. White loved life and was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance & Michael Wilson of Rebecca; grandchildren: Michael Horn of Fitzgerald and Katelyn Horn of Owasso, Oklahoma; a brother, James N. Sowell, III & Margaret of Virginia; a sister, Regina Prescott of Bowling Green, Kentucky; nieces and nephews: Erik & Erin Walker, Keith & Tabitha Walker, Brandy & Matthew Thomas, Joy & Steve Matsui, Mary Helen “Faith” Brown and Hope & Gabe Henderson; several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
