WORCESTER
Jeanne L. (Provencher) Ostaszewski, 83, of Worcester died Wednesday, May 10, in UMASS Medical Center.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Stanley J. Ostaszewski; three children, Paula Marengo of West Boylston, Stanley Ostaszewski of Epping, NH and Lynn Ann Ostaszewski of Westminster; four grandchildren, Jimmy Marengo, Michele Marengo, Tiffany Mack and Kiel Ostaszewski; two brothers, Oscar Provencher of Worcester and Ralph Provencher of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Alma Lefebvre and Dolores White both of Worcester and nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Therese Lainer and Marie Butrym both predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Alma (St. Germain) Provencher and graduated from Commerce High School.
Jeanne worked at UMASS Hospital with her sister Terry Lainer in the TV Program, prior to that she worked for the Valtex Company and Wachusett Country Club both in West Boylston. She was a founding member of St. Christopher’s Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making quilts.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 16, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 W. Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 am in St. Christopher’s Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Monday, May 15, from 6 to 9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to, the UMASS Memorial Foundation, One Biotech, 365 Plantation St., Suite 100, Worcester, 01605-2395.
