Robert (Bob) Gregg Halterman 70, of Franklin died June 24 in his home following a long illness. He was the husband of Janet (Tillison) Halterman for the past 45 years.
Born in Buffalo, New York, December 7, 1951, he was the son of the late Frederick and Phyllis (Cunningham) Halterman. He is survived by his sons, Daniel Halterman of Franklin and Scott Halterman of Medford, and his two grandchildren James and Nicolae. He is also survived by his siblings, David Halterman of Tonawanda, New York and Barbara Bortner of Melbourne, Florida.
Bob was a graduate of the University of New York in Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He followed a career working with Burger King and Dunkin Donuts in multiple management and executive roles.
After his career, Bob was able to fully pursue his numerous hobbies and talents. He enjoyed bass fishing, skiing, gardening, his corvette, and relearning the guitar so he could enjoy playing many of his favorite classic rock songs. He additionally found a second calling to become a Master Gardener and Certified Horticulturist. He worked at his favorite garden center, Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton, helping numerous customers build their own dream gardens much like he enjoyed at home.
A celebration of life will be held at date to be announced later.
There will be a burial service at 2 PM on Thursday June 30 at Union St Cemetery, Franklin MA. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
