Ann M. (McManus) Grealy of Medford and Falmouth passed away at her Medford home on Friday night surrounded by her loving family. She was 84.
Ann was born and raised in Jamaica Plain, the daughter of the late Michael and Helen T (Keady) McManus. Once married, she and her late husband Thomas settled in Medford over 60 years ago to raise their family. Ann was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother to her five children and couldn't get enough of her cherished grandchildren. Ann was honored to serve on the staff of the Executive Office of Public Safety where she spent many years of her career. She and her husband worked hard to give the best they could to their family, especially summers full of wonderful memories at their home in Falmouth. Ann was a devout woman. As a daily communicant and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion at St. Agnes parish, the Catholic faith was a driving force in her life and through her, an inspiration to her family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Grealy, who passed away in 2014, Ann was a devoted mother to Michael Grealy and his wife Allison of South Boston, Maureen Tringale and her husband Michael of Medford, Kadie Grealy and Diane Valcanas of Derry, NH, Mariann Cinella and her husband Steven of Medford, and Erin Grealy of Medford. Ann was the mother-in-law of the late Sharlene (Feeney) Grealy. She was a loving grandmother to Jared, Devin, Kirsten, Deirdre, Thomas, Alanna, Devlin, Kieran, Brighid, Edward, and Caitlin. She was a dear sister to James McManus of South Boston and the late John and Peggy McManus. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ann also leaves her beloved dog, Higgins and many granddogs.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 29 from 4 - 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
