Roland Keith Heninger, 74, of Stone Mountain, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Chris Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Heninger was born November 7, 1947, in Salem, Illinois, to the late Ronald Keith and Gene Perkins Heninger. Mr. Heninger graduated from Fitzgerald High School, Class of 65, which he loved dearly. He later attended Undergraduate School at Emory University and earned his degree in Pharmacy at Mercer University School of Pharmacy in Atlanta. He served in the United States Army as a specialist Pharmacist at Fort Riley, Kansas. Mr. Heninger was a Pharmacist with Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, as well as numerous CVS Pharmacies in the Atlanta area. Mr. Heninger adored Fitzgerald, and would also travel as a pharmacist to the Fitzgerald area with Hill’s Pharmacy. He loved Purple Hurricane football, the St Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Heninger loved to attend Hobby family reunions in Pine Mountain, Georgia and family reunions in Illinois. Mr. Heninger was a long-time member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter: Ginnie (Andy) Wiggs of Buford; 2 grandchildren: Hayden Wiggs and Isabelle Wiggs; two sisters: Terry Hudson of Dublin and Cheri (John) Gilleland of Lilburn; one brother: Kent (Diann) Heninger of Fitzgerald. Several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews also survive.
