Rosenblatt, Martha (88) of Gloucester and formerly of Worcester passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 23. Beloved wife of Melvin “Mel” Rosenblatt for 67 years. Martha was the devoted mother of David Rosenblatt and his wife Ellen and Judy Sockol and her husband Eric. Sister of Joseph Kangisser and his wife Louise. Loving grandmother of Daniel Rosenblatt and his wife Melissa, Alyson Basil and her husband Miles, Sarah Rosenblatt, Jessica Ginsberg and her husband Bryan, and Sam Rosenblatt. She was the adoring great grandmother of Seth Rosenblatt, Simon Rosenblatt, and Colby Basil. Martha was a Smith College graduate who was a playwrite in her spare time. She wrote and produced a musical on the life of King David which enjoyed a four-week run at the National Jewish Theatre in Washington, DC. She was a devotee of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, MA. Martha loved spending every summer in Gloucester with her extended family and eventually settled there with Mel when he retired. She loved Good Harbor Beach, the ocean, and her beautiful gardens which she planted with pride every spring. Services at Temple Ahavat Achim, 86 Middle Street, Gloucester on Sunday, June 26 at 11 AM. Burial in Mt. Jacob Cemetery. Memorial observance at her late residence on Sunday following interment until 6 PM.
