William Anthony Gonzales, 56, of Acushnet passed away suddenly at home on Sunday June 12, 2022.
Born in Boston, the son of Joanne Marie (Goguen) Gonzales and Roque William “Billy” Monteiro, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Bill was employed as a personal care attendant for Beacon Healthcare and had previously worked as an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 103 in Boston.
He was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, Bristol Community College, and UMass Dartmouth where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Bill was an avid sports fan, especially for the New England teams, and enjoyed watching animated movies. He was a music enthusiast who liked many different types of music. He especially liked going to local venues and listening to bands such as Pearly Baker and Entrain, to name a few.
In addition to his parents, Joanne and Billy, he leaves three daughters, Jade, Kristin, and Alyssa Gonzales; his siblings, Randall F. “Bear” Monteiro, Nicole D. Xifaras, Courtney A. Monteiro, and Mariann C. Monteiro; and two grandchildren, Phoenix and Abby.
He was predeceased by his brother, Roque W. Monteiro II.
