Roy L. DeGirolamo, 68

Roy L. DeGirolamo, most recently of Norton, a former lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Cynthia M. (Frost) DeGirolamo, to whom he was wed for nearly forty-five years.
Born in Attleboro, MA on January 12, 1954, he was a loving son of the late Peter, Sr. and Mary (Narciso) DeGirolamo.
Roy grew up in Mansfield, was a 1972 graduate of Mansfield High School and attended Art School. While in high school he excelled in many sports, football being his passion.
Throughout his life Roy took pride in his work. He grew up working alongside his family eventually becoming part owner of Peter DeGirolamo & Sons, Inc. in Mansfield and later as Owner/Operator of Cat Alley Farm Contracting in Mansfield, where he applied his unwavering work ethic in all that he did.
Family & friends were of the utmost importance to him. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was well respected in the Mansfield Community, was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, served as a former member of the Mansfield Planning Board and also formerly coached Mansfield Midget Football.
Roy was an enthusiastic New England sports fan, an avid golfer and a former member of the Foxborough Country Club. His other hobbies included gardening, arts and wood carving.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Nicholas DeGirolamo and his wife Laurie of Cambridge, Gina Coleman and her husband Troy of North Easton and Pat DeGirolamo of Mansfield. He was the cherished and adoring grandfather of Isabella, Emma, Casey, Irene, William and Lauren. He was the dear brother of David DeGirolamo and his wife Nancy of Attleboro, the late Paul DeGirolamo, who is survived by his wife Janet of Mansfield and the late Peter DeGirolamo, Jr., who is survived by his wife Susan of Mansfield. Roy is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 23rd from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 24th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be held privately, at a later date, at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Roy’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Gridiron Club of Mansfield, P.O. Box 481, Mansfield, MA 02048.
