Guild, Susan M., aged 62, of Falmouth, MA, died on June 10, 2022 surrounded by her 3 loving daughters after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Sue was born on October 14, 1959 in Hyannis, MA, to the late Edward A. Guild and Carolyn M. (Crabtree) Guild and is survived by her daughters; Carrie Eldridge-Dickson and husband PJ of Peabody, MA, Jennifer (Eldridge) Crompton and husband Justin of Marstons Mills, MA, and Kathleen (Murtha) O’Connor and husband Edmond of Dennisport, MA. She was a beloved “Mimi” to 6 grandchildren; Violet Paquette, Amelia and Natalie Crompton, Tazmyn and Taylen Dickson, and Vivienne O’Connor. Sue was predeceased by brother Robert Guild of Palm Springs, CA, and sister Lynn Guild of Hyannis, MA, and leaves behind brother Richard Guild and his wife Doreen of Yarmouth Port, MA, and sister Elizabeth Guild of Hyannis, MA, along with her much loved nieces and nephew.
Sue studied fashion design and graduated from Cape Cod Tech. While raising her 3 girls, Sue worked as a bus driver for Harwich Public Schools and loved her bus #12 kids and coworkers. Later in life Sue completed an associate’s degree in nursing and was a compassionate, skilled, and hardworking CNA, committed to giving her patients the dignity and respect that they deserved in all stages of life. Sue loved crossword puzzles and coffee milkshakes and was an avid movie fan, seldom having a conversation where she didn’t include a favorite movie quote. She loved classic rock of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, and was always rooting for her “boys” of Fenway Park. Most of all, however, she loved her family, will be thought of often and deeply missed.
True to her wishes, Sue’s family will host a celebration of her life later this summer with a backyard barbecue and a playlist of which she would heartily approve. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Susan Guild to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - P.O.
