Edward Joseph Dorr, 90, of Franklin, died peacefully on June 12, 2022 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on February 29, 1932 the son of the late Thomas Dorr and Catherine (Nugent) Dorr.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife Susan M. (Sewall) Dorr of Franklin. Devoted father of Pamela (Dorr) Breitfelder and her husband Joseph of Wellesley. Step-father of David Cibley and his wife Stephanie Shaw of Hancock, NH; Liz Bogan and her husband Mike of Franklin and Rachel Surner and her husband Sage of Holliston. Predeceased by his first wife, Mildred E. (Bastable) Dorr who died January 30, 1990 and their son John E. Dorr who died February 16, 1998. Cherished grandfather of Benjamin Cuddy of Brighton and Cassandra Cuddy of Wellesley. He was the brother of the late John Dorr and Frank Meroth.
Edward was a graduate of Boston Latin High School and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He served his country as an Airman First Class and a Photographer with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He flew over North Korea creating photographs for the United States Intelligence during wartime.
He had a long and distinguished career as a Manager with the In-House Field Service department for Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard for over 20 years before retiring. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed the time spent with them creating special memories.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (off Rt 30), Wayland.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Dorr family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, 80 Commonwealth Road, Wayland.
