Following his retirement from the Marines, Roger had a second successful career as a quality engineer at GTE. His prior military experience made him a valuable contributor within GTE’s Government Systems division. During his years at GTE, he enjoyed the camaraderie of his coworkers and eventually settled in Bellingham where he lived for over 30 years. He retired from GTE in 1997.
Roger was devoted to his golf game and was a former member of Foxborough Country Club. He was also a skilled poker player and enjoyed hosting monthly poker nights with friends at his home.
