Laura C. Headley, 93, of Franklin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at The Holiday Retirement Home in Manville, RI. She was the beloved wife of Richard B. Headley who died in 1994.
Born in Worcester, MA on September 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Martha Crossley.
Laura grew up in Providence, RI where she met her husband whom she later married on July 4, 1951.
Before entering the retirement home she was a resident of Franklin for the past 27 years. Prior to her husband’s death they resided in Waltham, where they raised their six children. They then moved on to Lexington and finally Easton where they resided until Richard’s death.
A homemaker for most of her life, she worked at the Rhode Island School of Design prior to her marriage and later enjoyed working with children at several pre-schools in the Lexington area.
Laura faithfully served her Lord, her church, and her family. She has been active in many churches including the Newton Presbyterian Church, Grace Chapel in Lexington and for the last 25 years a member of the Medway Community Church.
Laura is survived by her six children, Dianne (John) Abraham, Glenn (Roberta) Headley, Wayne (Lori) Headley, Dale (Gerard) Labrecque, Audrey (Richard) Alberts and Brenda (Harold) Benson.
She is also survived by her eighteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joy, Joanna, Melissa, Matthew, Kelly, Wayne, Brian, Laura, Kari, Bethany, Alex, Jesse, Michelle, Kristen, Timothy, Scott and Leah. In addition she leaves behind nineteen great grandchildren.
Laura was the sister of the late Donald Crossley, Barbara Lattimer and Robert Crossley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours, on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 4 – 7 pm at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) at 131 Main St., Franklin, MA.
A funeral service will be held at the Medway Community Church at 193 Main Street, Medway on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30am.
A private burial will follow.
