Patrick S. Andreottola, age 102, of Medford passed away on Monday, June 13th with his loving and devoted wife Clo by his side. Raised and educated in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Luigi and Celeste (Careggia) Andreottola. Patrick proudly served in the Army during World War II, after which he was employed as a truck driver. He has lived in Medford for the past 45 years.
Patrick was the previous commander of VFW Post 1012. He enjoyed playing video poker, going to the casino, and doing cross-word puzzles. After retiring, Patrick loved to drive cross country. His favorite time of day was “wine-time” at 4 PM, and his favorite advice was: “Get a Job!”
Patrick was the beloved husband of Clarissa (MacDonald) Andreottola, and the devoted father of June McGonigle and her husband Jim of Westford, Paula Andreottola of Boston, Christine Amari and her husband Mike of Derry, NH, Cindy Lang and her husband Pat of North Andover, Ronnie Frazer of Texas, and Patricia Moss and her husband Justin of Wilmington. He is survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Patrick is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Patrick’s funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 22nd, followed by a graveside service in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, from 4 through 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Patrick’s name to a charity of One’s choice.
