Jose Federico Ruiz Garcia (Fred), Federico, 70 of Oxnard, California, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Ventura, California. Federico was born in San Martin, Hidalgo Jalisco to Antonio and Gregoria on March 2, 1952 known as “El Choco” by his childhood friends and “Fred” by his elegant clients.
Uniquely humorous and known as a friend to many, Fred greeted everyone with an open heart, a big beautiful smile and ensured they parted in laughter. With a sixth grade education he graduated from the school of hard knocks with a masters as the founder of Fred’s Upholstery, established in 1986 serving the Santa Barbara community. He enjoyed mastering his craft, spending time with his family and watching his favorite soccer team Las Chivas, his lifes passion outside of his wife.
Federico is survived by his wife Eva Ruiz, Son Jose Antonio Ruiz Jr (wife Veronica) , Son Sergio Ruiz (wife Lisa), Son Ruben Ruiz (wife Janice), Son Hector Ruiz (wife Jessica), Grandson Jose Antonio Ruiz III, Granddaughter Camila Ruiz, Granddaughter Rubee Ruiz, Grandson Rory Ruiz, Granddaughter Riley Ruiz, and Great Granddaughter Izabella Chulis Ruiz. He is preceded in death by his Father Antonio, Mother Gregoria, Brother Chino and Brother Chuy.
Funeral services will be held a 227 N Nopal St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103 on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11am by Father Cesar Fonseca of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church officiating.
