Paxton: Lillian Ruth Carroll (Cederlund) lived a long and beautiful life educating, inspiring and caring for her family and friends. Lillian was born on December 19, 1929 in Worcester, MA, daughter of Aldo and Catherine Cederlund (Barrett). Lil graduated from South High in 1947 and Worcester State College in 1951 with a BA in Education. There she met her husband Russell, the love of her life, and they were married for 51 years. She went on to be a beloved kindergarten teacher, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lillian was also an avid reader, gardener and talented artist who created beautiful works of art for her family and friends. She was an active member of Our Lady of Rosary church..
Lillian was predeceased by her son Daniel, daughter Mary, mother Catherine, father Aldo, sister Doris Gillette and husband Russell. Lillian leaves behind her five children; Cathryn Clapp (Roger) of Paxton, MA; Patrick Carroll (Sarah) of Slingerlands, NY; Jean Houskeeper (Marshall) of Upton, MA; Joanne Pescatore (Joseph) of Vero Beach, FL and Russell Carroll of Waltham, MA. Lillian cherished her grandchildren Caitlin (Jordan), Roger (Eileen), Lauren, Patrick, James, Andrew, Katie, Susie, Christopher, Dale (Dennis), Madeline (Craig), Alexandra and Nicholas and her great grandchildren Miles, Lillian, Charlie, Teddy and soon to be baby O'Connell.
The funeral Mass will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gallaudet University School for the Deaf, 800 Florida Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20002 www.gallaudet.edu.
