MANCHESTER --- Donald Wilfred Lamere, 87, of Merrimack, died peacefully with his daughters by his side on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
Donald was born on September 26, 1934, in Laconia, the son of Lee and Mary (LaPlante) Lamere.
Donald graduated from Laconia High School before serving in the US Army. He began his career as a machinist at Scott & Williams in Laconia. He then worked and retired from Hitchiner Manufacturing after 31 years. Don’s integrity, hard work, and dedication as a skilled tool and die machinist, Foreman, and Master Mold Maker, fulfilled his career goals and interests in the industry. He was a faithful Catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus.
Donald was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who cared deeply for his family. His retirement years were filled with many outdoor activities including working his tree farm, hiking the mountains of New Hampshire, logging many miles as an avid runner, and relaxing on his back deck. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
He leaves behind his daughters, Lorie Pepin, and her husband, Andy, of Candia, and Lisa Lamere, of Manchester, grandchildren Erin Kelley and her husband Michael, Cassandra Isabelle, Dylan Isabelle, Kevin Pepin, great-grandson Kadan Kelley, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Lamere. He is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Lee, Francis, Alice, Alfred, Anne and Paul Lamere.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. André Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia, NH.
Burial will follow at St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia.
For those who wish, the family suggests memorial contributions in Donald’s name be made to the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH 03104-5494.
