SPENCER: Karen T. (Gigante) Gregoire, 52, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, June 5 in her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with
cancer.
She leaves her loving husband of 19 years, Matthew R. Gregoire, her daughter
Avianna L. Gregoire of Spencer, her son Tyler Kane-Gregoire of Laughlin, Nevada, her
mother, Lillian Delude and her husband Bruce of Spencer, her father Domenic
Gigante and his life partner Della Doe of Holden, brother Stephen Gigante of
Shrewsbury, sister Christine Gigante of West Brookfield, a step-brother William
Delude and his wife Christine of Spencer, her step-sister Danielle Delude of Sweet
Briar, Virginia, and her loving dog Bella. She is predeceased by her son Nicholas Kane-
Gregoire who died in 2018. Karen was born in Worcester, and later graduated from
David Prouty High School in Spencer. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from
Worcester State College. Karen was a school teacher in the Spencer-E.Brookfield
School System and taught at E.Brookfield Elementary School and Wire Village School
in Spencer prior to her illness.
Karen loved camping in Maine and days at the beach. She was a free spirit who knew
how to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed so many great times with friends at
country festivals and concerts. She had a special presence amongst her closest
friends that no matter who you were, she would make them feel special enough to
be her best friend. She would always go out of her way to make any person close to
her feel loved and important. Most of all Karen loved spending time with her family.
Prior to her passing, Karen expressed the importance of all her loved ones
celebrating her life. She insisted in a letter she wrote that she wants everyone to
wear their favorite attire and “Throw me a party”.
Burial in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery is private for the family. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, June 16th. at 1p.m. at The Spencer Country Inn, 500 Main St., Spencer. There are no calling hours. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements for the family.
