LEICESTER: Richard H. Bousquet, 79, of Leicester, died Monday, June 6th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
He was the husband of Carol J. (Heilbrun) Bousquet who died in 2010. He leaves his son; Michael D. Bousquet of Spencer, his daughter; Sharon M. Grimes and her husband Donald of Brookfield, three grandchildren; Derek & Brett Grimes and Sarah Bousquet, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother; Delphis Bousquet, Jr. and sisters Irene Provost, Alice LeBlanc and Yvonne McNally.
Richard was born in Putnam, CT, the son of Delphis and Irene (Bousquet) Bousquet, Sr. and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He later served his country with the National Guard for seven years and served in the Army at Fort Dix afterwards. Before serving his country however, Richard met and married the love of his life, Carol J. (Heilbrun) Bousquet to whom he was married to for 45 wonderful years and remained dedicated to for the remainder of his life. Richard was a jack of all trades having many occupations such as an armored car driver, and was an exceptionally proficient printing press operator for a period of time. Richard was most well known however as a longtime and passionate antique dealer. When he was not working, Richard loved to go fishing or reminisce and share many exciting stories throughout his life to anyone. Most of all, the highlight of Richard's life was his family whom he loved to spend time with and tell others about. He was also a dedicated member of St. Pius X Church for the majority of his life and was very passionate about his faith.
The family would like to thank the UMASS medical staff for taking such great care of our father and grandfather. A funeral service will be held for Richard on Wednesday, June 15 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Wednesday, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish, 759 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.
