The Whole Truth
Salt of the Earth and Force of Nature, Monsieur Hrant, the youngest of Krikor Armenak and Hayganoosh Arslanian family boys grew up in mystical Aleppo surrounded with loving older brothers and a younger sister! My dad had countless aunties, uncles and cousins; he had friends teachers and classmates; best friend and scout troops; colleagues and peers, nephews and nieces, neighbors, committee members and clients all of whom he thanked profusely in his 3 books. He is the salt of this Earth.
We knew these stories of passionate patriotism, unique commitments, mutual respect, deep admiration, and eternal optimism. He is the salt of this Earth.
We knew he was witty and romantic, strong and powerful; he was dedicated and persistent, honest and impartial. He is the salt of this Earth.
We knew he fell in love with Mom Rosine. He embraced her so keenly and they became The forces of nature in our lives. She spiced his life in infinite dimensions! Baba loved and laughed, he sang and cheered, he worked and played, he taught and led. He brought peace and vision, he sought calm and solution, he instilled thoughtfulness and citizenship. He honored our elders, he protected our institutions and was perpetually farsighted. He was truly fair in debate and scrupulous in dealings. He was humble and poetic. He was the survivor and storyteller. He is the salt of this Earth.
Baba let the three of us Armen Maral and Salpi stand on his shoulders to reach the moon and back! He was our force of nature.
Dedig loved his sons in law Sarkis and Armen from the getgo. They are dedicated and hardworking intelligent sons to him and brothers to me…he cherished Araz my wife who immediately became the third daughter.
Dedig loved his 7 grandchildren with fervor. He celebrated their births and achievements with joy and gratitude. Patil Puzant Rose Lily Ani-Arpi Kevork-jack and Hrant-Haig have a stellar heritage. They loved Dedig fervently.
Baba was our pillar of wisdom, profession and determination.
We will miss his intellect and humor, his care and candor, his love and vision.

Funeral service at Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 145 Brattle Street, Cambridge on Monday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Sunday, June 12 from 4 - 7 p.m. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to AGBU at agbu.org/.
