TEWKSBURY: Robert E. Leone, age 82, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, formerly of East Boston and Woburn, passed away at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus on Monday, June 6, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Seluta) Leone, who passed away October 19, 2020.
Born in East Boston on October 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Amleto Leone and the late Mary (Souza) Leone.
Robert was raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by University Brink Sign Company of Saugus. During his long career with University Brink, Robert worked on the restoration of the landmark CITGO sign located in Kenmore Square in Boston.
He enjoyed camping and was an avid sports enthusiast. Robert particularly enjoyed hockey and following the Boston Bruins. In addition, he served as a referee for local youth hockey.
Robert was the father of Debora Baldwin and her husband Robert, of Mt. Holly, NC, Ronald A. Leone and his wife Linda, of Derry, NH, Thomas Leone of Manchester, NH and the late Theresa Rautenberg. He leaves seven grandchildren, Kristin, Ryan, Lindsey, Sean, Craig, Samantha and Matthew and seven great grandchildren. Robert is survived by his brother, Anthony Leone and his wife Barbara, of Grandbury, TX and his siter, Camille Handlin, of Auburndale, FL: several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 15th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. At his request there are No Funeral Services.
