Sheila Horne Jones, 63, of Omega passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Omega Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Norris officiating. Diane Walden will offer a eulogy. Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals
Scott Turner, Michael Brooks, Chris Ponder, Jim Dunn, Pedro Mendoza and Jesus Mendoza will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheree Hamilton, Leticia Mendoza, Betty Gunn, Cindy Camp, Patty Dunn, Helen Patrick, Edd Powell, Jeff Green, Donald Holton and Julian Bennett.
Born March 10, 1959, in Moultrie, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Tollie Ray Horne, Sr. and Alberta Richardson Horne. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Hurst and Tollie Ray Horne, Jr. Before retiring, she worked in Human Resources and she was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, especially her grandkids.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rayburn Jones of Omega; one son, Anthony Jones of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jose Murillo of Omega; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Ginny Horne of Joplin, Missouri and Tray and Amanda Horne of Sale City; one sister and brother-in-law, Sidney and Scott Woodall of Omega; and four grandchildren, Layla Jones, Jaidyn Murillo, Emily Murillo and Jepson Murillo.
