Worcester – Stephen Sclafani, 66, of Boston, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Saint Vincent Hospital suddenly and unexpectedly.
Stephen was born May 6, 1956 in the North End of Boston, son of the late Frank and Olga (Garadozzi) Sclafani, predeceased by his sister, Iris Rose, who passed in 2020 and his brother, Accurzio Sclafani who passed in 2019.
Survived by his sister, Lisa Ann Sclafani of Worcester; his aunt, Maryann, her son James with his wife Mary and their children, Nicholas, Camden and Aubree Summerall, all of Port St. Lucie, FL; his niece, Nicole Milbier and her daughter, Arabella of Worcester; a nephew, Jason Aboody of North Carolina. Many other family members and friends who already feel the loss of his presence.
Stephen worked 15 years at Lisitano Produce in Chelsea. After moving to Worcester, he drove a school bus at AA Transportation and got enjoyment “seeing his kids every day.” Retiring in 2021, gave him a chance to become even closer with his sister Lisa.
Mr. Sclafani, a man of great faith, would devoutly take part in services held by Pastors’ Arnold and Dennis Murray of The Shepherd’s Chapel, Gravette, AR. His reverence for God was second to none along with the love he had for his family. Stephen was just there for everyone, always ready to lend himself. He would start and end his day talking about God, enjoyed phone calls with closest friends, and watching videos of Jimmy and Mary’s Children growing up always put a smile on his face.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13 at 12 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 10 to 12 before the service. Flowers in memory of Stephen may be sent to Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home.
