Nancy Lee Bagdasarian, 85, of Wellesley passed away peacefully on May 31st 2022 at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah with her two daughters at her side.
Nancy was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 13, 1937 to Carrie and Robert “Bob” Derderian. She grew up in Waltham with her three siblings Rita, Bobby and Tom, and attended Waltham High School. A stellar honor roll student, Nancy went on to graduate from Colby College and then pursue a certificate of education from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA so she could provide special education support for students at Brown Elementary School in Wellesley.
However, her proudest achievement was raising her two girls, Lee and Nancy (Nanny), and being a loving and supportive grandma to five grandchildren: Zach Merrill, Charly Rech, Amelia Merrill, Louise Rech and Andy Merrill. Nancy and her beloved Bob, who she was married to for over 60 years, traveled back and forth from Boston to Salt Lake City to be hands-on grandparents through both good and hard times. For this effort and passion to be ever-present grandparents, she and Bob will never be forgotten.
A woman of couture and unique style, Nancy was always the woman who walked into the room and people noticed. A flair for fun shoes, nice designer clothing many times from consignment stores and church bazaars, sparkly jewelry and wonderful perfume and scent, she wore everything well up until the very end.
Nancy is survived by her two children, Lee and Nancy, her five grandchildren, and three siblings, Rita Johnson, Bob Derderian and Tom Derderian.
Nancy will be dearly missed by all who loved and spent time with her. A private family service will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
