Stella A. (Dube) Hayden, 80 of Whitman and beloved widow of William F. Hayden passed away on June 4th at Tufts Medical Center, Boston after a period of failing health.
She was born in St. Agatha, Maine and was one of 13 children. She met her husband, William at Loring Air Force Base and they married in 1962.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Anne-Marie of St. Agatha, ME and Adeline Griffin of East Hartford, CT as well as a brother, Alfred Dube of Swansea, MA.
She had worked as a nurses’ aide and later worked as a home health care provider.
She enjoyed day trips with friends, bingo, word puzzles, gardening and especially sitting on her porch watching the birds in her back yard.
She leaves behind her 4 children, Patrick, Teresa and Charlene of Whitman and Suellen of East Bridgewater. She enjoyed her 6 grandchildren, Ashley Hayden of Weymouth, Evangelyn McElaney of Whitman, Alexander McElaney and his partner Catie of Hanson, Brianna McElaney and her fiancée Rory McEachern of Sanford, ME, Andrew McElaney of Whitman and Aleesha Hayden of Weymouth. She had 4 great grandchildren, Peyton, Teagan, Charlotte and Cecelia whom she adored. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
