Our beloved sister, friend, and lifelong Franklin resident, Joan C. Holmes, passed away on June 3rd, 2022.
Joan was proud to be a nurse for over 40 years, and never missed an opportunity to help others with the knowledge and skills she learned in nursing school at St. Vincent's and then later in life when she earned her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College. Her love for traveling took her on many cruises, trips with her dear nursing friends, concerts, and casinos. Her generous and kind spirit was evident through her charitable contributions and in her many years serving as head nurse at Norwood Hospital. .
Along with travel, nursing, and meeting up with friends regularly, she also loved to go out to restaurants, eat ice cream, and laugh with her sisters over growing up on Union St. in a home with six girls (including two sets of twins.)
Joan is survived by her twin sister, Judith (Holmes) Mucciarone of Franklin, sister Barbara (Holmes) Pisani of Franklin, sister Janice (Holmes) Faenza of Franklin, sister Joyce (Holmes) Pisani of Frankln and is predeceased by her sister Lois (Holmes) Burke of Franklin. As well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand nephews. She was the daughter of Urban C. Holmes and Mabel I. (Casey) Holmes.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Doolittle Home in Foxboro for their incredible kindness and love in treating Joan and her loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Wednesday June 15th, in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.
