Charles M. Schofield Jr. "Chip", age 69, of Medway, MA, passed away on June 2, 2022 in his home following a courageous battle with ALS. Chip was the beloved husband of Mary C. (Walsh) Schofield for over 34 years. He was also a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend. His loss is felt and mourned by many.
Born in Boston on September 9, 1952, Chip was the son of the late Charles M. Schofield and Ann (Mcdonough) Schofield. He was raised in Needham and graduated from Needham High School and Saint Michael’s College.
Chip had an accomplished career in sales, earning awards and consistent recognition for his performance. He was passionate about his work.
An avid golfer, Chip enjoyed every aspect of the game and loved playing with his family and friends. He had countless memories playing with his brothers.
Outside of golf, Chip was known for his passion in music and found a lot of joy in attending concerts and shows. He was also known for his love of books and watching movies with his sons.
In addition to his wife, Chip is survived by his sons Chuck Schofield of Webster, Brian Schofield of Franklin, and Chuck's fiancé Elas Zielinska also of Webster. Chip also leaves behind his siblings, Susan Shortsleeve of Franconia, NH, David Schofield of Millis, Peter Schofield of North Scituate, RI, Paul Schofield of Dedham, and Mark Schofield of Washington, D.C.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 9 from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, at 11am in Saint Joseph Church, Village Street, Medway at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to The ALS Association.
Chip will be greatly missed by many.
