Rosemary J. (Dobrinski) Ferland, 69, of Derry, NH, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following a sudden brief illness of cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Philip J. Ferland, her three loving girls, Amber, Hilary, and Ashley, and her loving granddaughter Katherine.
Rosemary was born on July 14, 1952, in Lawrence, MA to the late Thaddeus Dobrinski and Laura (Griva) Dobrinski where she grew up in a large loving family of three girls and four boys, and attended Holy Trinity Grammar School and Lawrence High School, eventually moving to Derry, NH to raise her family and resided for almost 40 years. A lifelong Catholic, she was a former parishioner of Holy Trinity and Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence, MA, and was currently a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, NH. She was an active community member; making lifelong friendships, having worked at USA Subs and Ferland Press among many.
Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She truly loved all her family and extended family, and especially loved spending time with her six grandchildren. She was best known for her infectious laughter, warm, friendly, hospitable, and compassionate nature, making her a friend and mother to all. Her love of amazing cooking was smelled throughout the home, and she always made sure you never left hungry! Her perseverance through any storm was so admirable, making her a fighter to the very end. She also had a love of prayer, gardening, music, comedy and most especially cooking-as most would know.
She is survived by her loving husband Philip Ferland, her daughters, Amber Cooley and her daughter Katherine of Derry, Hilary and Diego Ramirez and children Emmanuel and Amelia of Chester, Ashley and Andrew Dumont and children Austin and Ace of Auburn; her brothers, Thaddeus Dobrinski and his wife Laurie, Thomas Dobrinski, Michael and his wife Nancy Dobrinski, Daniel Dobrinski and his wife Kelly; her sisters Geraldine LaPlume and her husband Richard LaPlume, Cynthia Lahey, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents and her precious grandson, Gabriel Ramirez, son of Hilary and Diego Ramirez, who’s passing at a young age was felt so deeply within her heart.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Monday June 6th, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, at 10 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Road (off East Derry Road), Derry, NH. Flowers in preference but in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
