Lawrence Orloff, 81, of Wayland, died peacefully on May 30, 2022 at Care Dimensions in Lincoln following a period of declining health.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 12, 1941 the son of the late Bernard Orloff and Kay (Miller) Orloff.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judith (Mesh) Orloff of Wayland. Father of Darren Orloff and his wife Ji of Concord; Maura Copeland and her husband Phillipe of Boston and Roushan Rice of Frederick, MD. Brother of Jeff Orloff and his wife Katherine of San Jose, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren Everest, Whitney, Nyhla, Hadley, Douglass and Desmond.
Larry received his Masters's Degree in Astronomy from Georgetown University. He had a distinguished career as a combustion Research Scientist with FM Global before retiring. He was very active with the local chapter of Cochlear Implant Club International serving as editor of the quarterly newsletter. For fifteen years he held the role of president of the Minuteman Implant Club which served the needs of those who used a cochlear implant and their families. He and other members organized bi-annual Northeast Cochlear Implant conventions in Sturbridge, MA. He also was active in the Baha’i Faith Community.
Private family services were held at the Orloff family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Larry's name.
