Obituary

Dennis G. Merrow, 75, of Londonderry, NH, died suddenly on Wednesday June 1, 2022. He was born in Lancaster, NH on December 11, 1946, one of two sons to George and Daphne (Samson) Merrow.

Dennis graduated from New Hampshire College in 1968 then proudly served his country as a member of the Army from 1968 -1971. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He then returned to Lancaster where he worked for over 37 years at Geo. M. Stevens Insurance Agency as an insurance agent and finished his career as a senior managing partner.

Dennis was an ardent New York Yankees and New York Football Giants fan, as well as a huge golf enthusiast. He also loved to travel with Joy and other friends. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit and many sayings that his children and grandchildren will use for years to come.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Joy (Sanviti) Merrow of Londonderry; two sons, Christopher Merrow and his wife Amy of Hooksett, NH, and Barry Merrow and his wife Kristine of Auburn, NH; daughter, Holly Nighelli and her husband Richard of Plymouth, MA; six grandchildren (Noah, Brady, Scott, Kayla, Nicholas and Anthony) brother, William Merrow and his wife Susan of St. Johnsbury, VT and a niece and nephew.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on June 8, 2022, at 9:30 am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. At the request of the family, a private burial will follow at NH State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen.
