LEICESTER: James F. Leary, 77, of Main Street passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 1 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Belmont Street, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Noreen F. (Shepard) Leary, a son Michael R. Leary and his wife Jodi of Medway, a daughter Kelli Clifford and her husband Andrew of Sunapee, New Hampshire, three grandchildren; Hannah Leary and Drew & Mallory Clifford and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother John and two sisters; Katherine and Ann.
James was born in Worcester, son of Jeremiah and Hannah (O'Connor) Leary. He owned and operated Leary Plastering Co. for many years before retiring. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He enjoyed target shooting, playing cards with his friends, playing games with his grandchildren and attending their activities.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 5 from 2:00-4:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester will be at the convenience of the family.
