John E. Lawson, Sr., age 77, of Brockton, passed on May 27, 2022 at Brockton Hospital. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Melva A. (Willis) Lawson. John was a graduate of Brockton High School. For many years he worked in the hospitality industry as a bartender at Eldio’s Restaurant and Maple Lounge. He also served in the National Guard during the Vietnam era.
He was an talented candlepin bowler and had an appearance on Candlepins for Cash. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid Boston Sports fan. John loved life and lived it to the fullest.
John was the proud father of John Lawson, Jr. of Brockton, Joanne Gray of Tiverton, RI, Donna Lawson of Taunton, Christine Corkum of Gaffney, SC and Diana Lawson of Wareham. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Steve Conway and his wife Gretchen, Joshua Lawson, Justin Morse, Nicole Smith and her husband Phil, Brenna and Alex Lawson, Caitlin and Cody Corkum, and Jordan and Jacob Lippman and five great grandchildren: Alanna, Rose, Logan, Charlotte and Philip.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday, June 4, from 11am-1pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm.
