LEICESTER: Geraldine A. (McCue) Wilson, 96, of Park Lane, died Saturday, May 28 in her home.
Her husband of 60 years, D. Gordon Wilson died in 2008. She leaves three sons; David G. Wilson, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Leicester, James C. Wilson and his wife Sandra of Leicester and Robert F. Wilson and his wife Debra of Leicester, a daughter Annmarie Montiverdi and her husband Christopher of Leicester, a nephew Mark F. Wilson whom she raised and his wife Marybeth of Leicester, eight grandchildren; Jennifer, Elizabeth & Kathleen, Matthew & Amanda, Eric, Paige & Chad, five great grandchildren; Alexis, Brayden, Zoe, Jack and Bridgett, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers; John & Roy Shepard and James, Vincent, Charles & Richard McCue and three sisters; Mary Snook, Eleanor Bergin and Eileen Wilson and a niece Margaret E. Wilson whom she raised.
Geraldine was born in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, daughter of Charles H. and Elizabeth (Barry) McCue. She worked at the Leicester Public Library for 32 years, and became the Assistant Librarian in the Main Library, before retiring in 1994. Before she was married, she was a payroll clerk at the former Reed & Prince Mfg. Co. She attended Leicester High School. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Leicester, Friends of the Leicester Public Library, Friends of the Elders, Leicester Historical Society and St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish. She was an avid reader.The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the tender care, kindness and compassion provided by Edith Escobar for the past year.
. Geraldine's funeral will be held on Friday, June 3 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Thursday, June 2 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leicester Library (Trustees), 1136 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.
