WORCESTER-John J. Kittredge, 78, of Worcester died Sunday, May 7.
He leaves a sister, Margaret A. Kittredge of Worcester; several cousins, Frederick Maguire of Casper, WY, William and Evelyn Maguire of Norwell, Thomas Cody of Bethesda, MD, Harry and Dorothy Higgins of Liss Hampshire, England, Charles and Louise Atkins of Leicester, England and Robert and Anne Bertuello of Midsomer, Norton, England and his caregiver, Michaela Oberg of Holden.
He was born in Worcester the son of Joseph J. and Madeline F. (Cosgrove) Kittredge. He graduated from Classical High School in 1947 and received his B.S. in Business in 1951 from the College of the Holy Cross. Mr. Kittredge was the owner of the former Kittredge Monumental Works in Worcester. John was a lifelong coin collector and belonged to and was Past President of the Worcester County Numismatic Society. He was also a member of the New England Numismatic Society and the Rotary Club and Blessed Sacrament Church. He enjoyed traveling to Venice, Italy.
The funeral will be Wednesday, May 10 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
