Peter Alfred Bogren, 87, died comfortably on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Newton Wellesley Hospital following a period of declining health.
Peter was the loving husband of Lois A. (Brousseau) Bogren of Wayland for 56 years, beloved father of Erika Valenti and her husband Steve, Scott Bogren and his wife Beth, and cherished grandfather of Riley Bogren, Zane Valenti, Ella Bogren, and Lucy Valenti.
He was born in Natick, MA on June 19, 1934, the son of the late George G. Bogren and Louisa A. (Smith) Bogren. Peter was a graduate of Wayland High School and received his BA in Liberal Arts from Colby College and his Masters in Journalism from the University of Missouri.
Peter and Lois raised their family in the DC/Maryland area before returning to Wayland post-retirement in 1996. Peter had a long and distinguished career in communications/marketing with several companies. He had a great love for hockey from early days skating on Dudley Pond, serving as Colby’s goaltender, and coaching his son’s junior hockey team. He also loved to travel, was an avid reader, and will always be remembered for his wit, creativity, and zest for life. He was passionate in all his pursuits and was beloved by many.
At Peter’s request, all services will be held at the convenience of his family.
