Monica E. (Bradley) Timko of La Mesa, CA died gracefully on May 12th, 2022, after a tenacious battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, surrounded by those she loved most. Monica was born in Boston and raised in Medford by her adoring parents James and Elizabeth, “Polly” (Merrigan) Bradley. She attended St. Joseph’s School, Arlington Catholic High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College.
Following her college graduation, Monica set off on the beginning of the great adventure that was her life and landed in California where she met the love of her life - Sean Timko - whom she married in 2016. They built a life together filled with the love and laughter of family and friends. Her beauty and smile lit up every room she ever entered. She faced her diagnosis of breast cancer with a determination and will to live each day with hope and confidence. She was simply the best of us.
Monica was predeceased by her father James “Bibber” Bradley. In addition to her husband Sean and her mother Polly, she is survived by her devoted siblings Ellen and James Bradley and his partner Krystle Bouchahine. When she married Sean, she became part of the Timko clan and leaves behind her loving mother-in-law Betty Chittum and her husband Wayne, her sister-in-law Julie Kohl and her husband Matt, and her brother-in-law Sam Timko and his wife Jelena and their children. She is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, dear cousins, and a legion of friends on both coasts. Monica’s final act of kindness and generosity was to donate her body to the University of California San Diego Medical Center in the hope that their ongoing research will end the scourge of Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 5th at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 3 through 7 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on June 6th at St. Joseph’s Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11:30 AM.
