Anna Lee (Wilson) Looper, 96, of Anderson died May 25, 2022 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after a brief illness.
Anna was born in Monterey, Tennessee February 16, 1926 to Bennie and Martha (Copeland) Wilson. The family moved to Anderson when she was three years old. Anna was a 1945 graduate of Anderson High School.
She worked in the office of Ward Stilson for eight years until it closed. She worked production at Delco Remy for 32 years before retiring in 1987 and was a member of the UAW Local 662.
She was an avid reader, liked crocheting and knitting blankets, watching classic movies and making candy. Once a month she would have lunch with her classmates. She enjoyed spending time at their home in Tennessee and their home at Lake Shafer with her family and friends.
She was a 78 year member of the First Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Diane) Looper of Daleville and Randy (Stepheni) Looper of Parker, Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Pam Looper of Anderson; a sister, Maxine (Wayne) James of Florida; eight grandchildren, Autumn (Jeff) Gasior, Dustin (Marcene) Looper, Carly Looper (Torey) Barr, Magdalyne Looper, Kaitlyn Looper, Shelby Looper, Crystal (Jeremy) Elliott, Amanda (Andrew) Reed; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George T. Looper; a son, Doug Looper, a daughter-in-law, Teresa Ann Looper; five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Bishop Danny St. Clair and Rev. Luke St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at the funeral home.
